The Petroleum Oil and Gas Corporation of South Africa (SOC) Limited (PetroSA) invites applications for its internship programme in 2023.

Under South African law, PetroSA is a commercial entity and is known as the National Oil Company of South Africa.

State-owned PetroSA is a subsidiary of the Central Energy Fund (CEF), which reports to the Department of Energy.

Besides operating according to world-class safety and environmental standards, the company owns assets across the petroleum value chain.

Job description

Internship opportunities are offered by PetroSA to students and graduates to better understand the theories, ideas, and practices of their discipline or major, by actively participating in a “hands-on,” work-based, learning experience.

There are twelve (12) internships available in the following disciplines for a period of twelve (12) months:

1.   Management Accounting X 2

Analyzes and provides cost information to internal management for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and making decisions.

As a method of assessing real performance against budgets and helping management maximize return on capital employed, it measures the real performance.

2.   Human Resource X 2 (Of which 1 candidate must be from a TVET College)

The Human Resource Management course will provide the following exposure:

• Remunetion & Benefits

• Recruitment

• Employee Relations

• Training & Development

• Change Management

• Organizational Development

• Performance Management

3.   Internal Audit X 3

The Internal Auditor’s role is to verify that financial documents are accurate and in compliance with federal regulations.

Determine the organization’s financial risk and make recommendations to reduce and mitigate that risk.

4.  Information Technology X 3

Provides support, fixes, and maintenance for an organization’s computer hardware and software.

You may also be required to install, troubleshoot, test, or help roll out security features, hardware, and software, or maintain networks and computer systems.
