Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program 2023–2025
The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program for 2023-2025 is currently accepting applications.

Applicants to a master degree program in a development-related topic must be citizens of certain developing countries with relevant professional experience.
The goal of developing country scholars is to return to their home countries to use their new skills and contribute to the economic and social development of their countries after earning their degree.
Scholarships provided by the JJWBGSP include tuition, a monthly living stipend, round-trip airfare, health insurance, and travel allowance. View a detailed list of benefits.
As a general rule, nationals of developing countries must:
- An applicant must be a national of one of the developing countries listed here that is a World Bank member;
- Not hold dual citizenship of any developed country;
- Be in good health;
- At least three years prior to the Application Deadline date, you should have earned a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent);
- Experience in development-related work after earning a Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree for at least three years;
JJWBGSP offers scholarships for 45 Participating Master’s Programs at 27 universities in the U.S., Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Japan in key development areas such as economic policy management, tax policy, and infrastructure management.
The JJWBGSP Scholarship is not available to students who are not admitted to one of the 45 Participating Master’s Programs.
As outlined below, the next application process will be organized to accommodate the academic calendar of JJWBGSP Participating Programs.
It is important to note that all eligibility criteria are strictly adhered to. We do not make any exceptions. There will be no changes to eligibility criteria during an open call for applications. During the time between closing one application process and opening the next, this information may change.
