Climate Change Photo Essay Contest 2023 now open for entries for African youth
Entries are being accepted until 30th April 2023 for the inaugural Africa Soft Power (ASP) Climate Change Photo Essay Prize.
Entries close Sunday 30th April 2023.
African Soft Power (ASP) runs the Climate Change Photo Essay Prize in association with African Women Board (AWB) as part of the ‘Road to 100 Million Climate Soldiers in Africa’ campaign.
An initiative led by Africa, the Africa Soft Power Project seeks to improve the creative industries, knowledge economy, and soft power of the continent to propel it forward.
Young Africans and their diaspora between 18 and 30 are eligible to enter. The contest is open to all types of photographers and artists, regardless of their level of expertise.
The prize aims to encourage young people to engage with climate change in their local communities, which is an important issue of our time.
This is why we are thrilled to launch the prize with the theme: Climate change and your community.
Applicants are asked to submit a photo essay of three to five photographs that tell a cohesive story.
The campaign is focused on climate education, which we view as the first step in securing climate solutions.
To educate and empower 100 million young Africans about climate change, we will measure each ko of the campaign’s activities.
The prize is free to enter, and applicants retain full image rights (see the Ethical and Legal Guidelines below).
The winning works will be exhibited in a curated exhibition later this year. Enter the contest by clicking the link below.
