South African Police Service (SAPS) Department of Police is accepting applications for the position of Administration Clerk.

Generic Requirements:
The applicant must demonstrate competency in the post-specific core functions of the post; Be a South African citizen;
Be fluent in at least two official languages, one of which must be English;
Applicants must not have any criminal or departmental convictions or pending criminal or departmental cases;
Security screening and fingerprint verification will be part of the vetting process for applicants;
Work under pressure and for extended periods of time.
Additional Post Requirements:
Obtain a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate Vocational (NQF level 4) on the National Learner Record Database;
Having three (3) diplomas or degrees on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD) on NQF level 6 or higher in the field of employment will be an advantage;
A working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Power Point is an advantage.
Core Functions:
Ensure that reports, letters, and memoranda are typed and sent to the Divisional Commissioner’s office;
Help with administrative and secretarial tasks;
Manage the Divisional Commissioner’s diary, receive and host visitors; Arrange the Divisional Commissioner’s travel and subsistence allowances.
General:

The application form must be accompanied by a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae.
Each application must also include an uncertified copy of the applicant’s identification, motor vehicle driver’s license (where applicable), and all educational qualifications, along with academic records thereof, as well as service certificates from previous employers indicating the occupation.
The original documentation of shortlisted candidates must be produced during the selection process.
It is the responsibility of the relevant institutions to verify qualifications and driver’s licenses submitted.
Checks on references and residential addresses will be conducted by the South African Police Service.
The fingerprints of all shortlisted candidates will be screened. Previous criminal convictions are not allowed.
In accordance with SAPS prescriptions, applicants appointed under the Police Service Act will undergo a medical examination by a medical practitioner.
Applicants appointed under the Police Service Act will undergo a lateral entry programme at a SAPS Academy & Training Centre and will be expected to qualify as competent and to maintain such competency throughout their service, in order to possess and use a firearm(s) as required by the SAPS.
After a candidate is shortlisted, a security clearance and personal interview can be expected of him/her.

Reference checks will be conducted on all short-listed candidates. Short-listed candidates will be subjected to vetting under the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act, 2007 (Act No 32 of 2007) and the Children’s Act, 2005 (Act No 38 of 2005).
If the applicant’s details appear on either the National Register for Sex Offenders or Part B of the Child Protection Register, they will be disqualified for the position.
