Requirements:
A basic qualification accredited with the South African Nursing Council under Government Notice 425 (i.e. Diploma/degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration as a professional nurse with the Council
A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in general nursing after registration as a professional nurse with the South African Nursing Council
All shortlisted candidates must submit a copy of their current South African Nursing Council registration card
Computer literacy • A valid driver’s license.
Duties for Communicable Diseases Control (CDC):
Provide full co-ordination, administrative, and support functions in the District for communicable diseases and tuberculosis programs
Coordination and management of TB programs in the district, in collaboration with public and private sectors
Reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) • Prepare operational plans and supervise the TB programme in the district.
Train clinics and CHS on implementing, evaluating and monitoring TB, (Susceptible TB/DR TB) and other related programs
Monitoring all communicable diseases in the district. Interacting with community-based organizations and other departments.
Plan and conduct community awareness campaigns with other stakeholders • Conduct regular sub-district support visits
Coordinate integrated awareness campaigns for the district and ensure communication involvement and participation through support groups and stakeholder planning
Compile strategic and operational plans for the program in accordance with national and provincial health goals and objectives in collaboration with relevant health personnel.
Duties for HIV:
The overall management and coordination of HIV/AIDS treatment and care within the district.
To improve treatment outcomes, implement strategies to reduce the burden of HIV and AIDS: • Enhance ART access to people in need
A report based on the DORA guidelines on the HAST programme’s implementation of targeted key interventions
Ensure that all activities within the HAST programme are being implemented in the district and sub-district
Develop and implement a National Strategic Plan for HIV/AIDS and STIs in partnership with stakeholders
Coordinate and manage HIV/AIDS Programme activities within the district. Monitor and evaluate HIV/AIDS Programme activities.
Develop support groups and plan with stakeholders to ensure communication involvement and participation
Interact with NGOs and community-based organizations and coordinate with other departments.
