The uMzimkhulu Local Municipality invites applications for the vacant positions of GENERAL ASSISTANT x3.

- Annual salary:Â R112 632.00 (Task Grade 3)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Standard 7/ ABET Level 4
- Required to work in all weather conditions.
- Required to be on standby.
- During emergencies and planned overtime, you may be required to work outside your normal working hours.
- 1-2 years’ experience in Facilities Management Environment.
KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS:
Trimming/cutting of lawns at Council Chamber Building and Riverside Hall, gardens, and verges within uMzimkhulu municipality using handheld machines (brush cutters, lawnmowers) and/or tools (shears, lashers) for clearing overgrown shrubs.
Flower beds can be weeded, cleaned, and shaped with handheld gardening tools.
Using hand tools (spades, picks) to dig/backfill trenches, or positioning and erecting fencing structures in accordance with predetermined markings/indicators.
Clean up open spaces by picking up litter and/or items lying around. Taking out and replacing refuse bags from public collection bins.
The use of pressurized cleaning systems is used for removing debris from tools and/or vehicles (handheld hoses).
Replacing nylon cutting lines on equipment (brush cutters, lawnmowers) and checking/replacing fuel according to specifications.
Reporting to the immediate superior the condition/status of the tools/ equipment by placing and stacking them in designated storage areas.
