For the Graduate Internship Programme 2023-2024, South African National Parks (SANParks) is recruiting and inviting applications.

Description:

With 3 751 113 hectares of protected land in 20 national parks, South African National Parks (SANParks) is the leading conservation authority.

The National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, Act 57 of 2003, gives it its mandate.

Candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma (NQF6/NQF7) from a South African Public Higher Education Institution (HEI) and wish to be placed in SANParks for one (1) year with a monthly stipend of R6,030.00.

The Intern is not obligated to be employed by SANParks at the end of the programme.

Please note:

  • Applicants must submit a recent CV, a certified copy of their Matric/Grade 12 certificate, academic transcripts (academic record), and an identity card.
  • In order to qualify for the internship, candidates must be willing to find their own lodging and transportation, since they will be earning a stipend.
  • If you fail to submit the requested documents/information, your application will not be considered.
  • The time, date, and location of the assessment and selection interviews will be determined by SANParks.
  • The applicant is responsible for having foreign qualifications evaluated by SAQA (SAQA).
  • The pre-screening and verification process is mandatory for all internship appointments
  • SANParks reserves the right not to schedule an appointment.
  • Manual applications will not be accepted.
  • The only candidates who will be contacted are those who have been shortlisted.

Requirements:

To qualify for the Internship Placement Programme, you must:

  • Be an unemployed graduate age 18 – 35

  • Must be a South African Citizen

  • Have graduated from a South African Public Higher Education Institution (HEI) with a Bachelor National Diploma (NQF 6/NQF 7) in the discipline or fields of study mentioned above.

  • Must not have previously worked or participated in an internship or placement program
