Purpose of Sasol
Deliver and maintain coastal facilities plans, identifying, analysing and communicating the drivers of demand to JHB planning and Secunda/Sasolburg.
Plan and track drumming in order to avoid short shipments due to late/absent or incorrect approvals and minimize stock variances due to incorrect planning.
Plan, optimize, and execute distribution requirements plans based on site capacity, available stock levels, and bulk ship loading schedules while maintaining stock availability for the local market.
Identify and resolve conflicts between macro Distribution Requirement Planning and Planning & Optimisation plans and daily scheduling plans.
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
- Provide inventory planning information as and when required, including oversight of planning resources.
- Monitor plans and performance against them to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Forecasting business process management, collaborative planning.
- Identify, analyze, and communicate the demand drivers to Johannesburg planning and Secunda/Sasolburg.
- Achieve alignment and satisfaction with Service Level Agreements across sites and functions to ensure optimal integration between Durban, Johannesburg, Secunda, Sasolburg, storage facilities, and Intertek Surveyors (ITS).
- Plan requirements into Service Level Agreements and attend Service Level Agreement meetings.
- Analyze the accuracy of planning and the number of changes after a firm has been booked.
- Report on stock movements across key metrics and deliver inventory standards.
- Develop proactive mechanisms to prevent inventory shortages and communicate such shortages via available technologies.
- Calculate planning metrics based on stock turnover and performance.
- For value-added business optimization, measure performance against plan.
