Sasol Engineer-In-Training Programme 2023
In this position, you will be part of the graduate development program. Operations and Technology (O&T) graduate development programs are three-year training programs.
A six-month assessment will be conducted during this training period to demonstrate competencies developed and identify areas for further development.
Upon declaring competence after the 3 year period, you can apply for vacant Engineering positions. (Subject to vacancies being available).
Functional Outputs
- Develop a solid understanding of the Sasol value chain (including Operations, Technology (Engineering and Project Management), its products and applications, test methods, and equipment.
- Acquire a thorough understanding of the Sasol Operations Standard Framework and how to operate within it.
- The ability to translate theoretical knowledge into practical business application will add value to your organization.
- Plan and integrate effectively.
- Incorporate engineering tools, systems, and standards (local, national, and international) into own projects and work.
- You should understand the value chain of Sasol and your business unit’s position within it.
- Your allocated plant will be impacted by upstream- and downstream-units’ operations.
- Obtain a solid understanding of [discipline] engineering generalist knowledge as well as process equipment (e.g. their design and safe operation).
- Learn specific details about defined fields of engineering.
- Utilize the right indicators in order to identify business opportunities.
- Assessing specific job risks using tools such as the probability risk ranking matrix and the specific job risk assessment is one of the key elements of defining business risks.
- Provide technical support for the execution of an engineering scope of work for a small multidisciplinary project (i.e. Tier).
- Operate, design, engineer, develop, and/or modify processes and equipment in accordance with established engineering principles and standards to satisfy the needs of the business.
- Analyze small projects, ideas, and modifications in a technical and economic way.
Qualifications and experience requiredÂ
The position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science. With limited practical experience or none at all in Chemical Engineering. The application process will be open to final year students.
It is important to note that the BEng Tech qualification does not form part of our EIT program. Applicants should include their latest academic records in their profiles
