Scaled Impact: Paid Internship Programme 2023
A non-profit organization, Scaled Impact, is inviting qualified students to apply for its paid internship program in 2023.

Located in Johannesburg and Berlin, Scaled Impact develops projects and provides strategic advisory services.
Our organization is a not-for-profit social enterprise. We have a series of projects across Southern Africa that we are managing to prove concept, attract funding, and take to commercial scale since 2016.
Our projects are selected to:
- Drive economic empowerment across Southern Africa
- Link small scale and emerging farmers to large scale markets
- Implement circular economy managerment and methods
- Develop transparent and effective supply chains
Several large companies and government departments also seek our advice on development strategies.
A small number of interns are needed to join us in April 2023 for twelve weeks. In addition to conducting strategic analysis and developing business models, they will also conduct marketing activities related to specific projects.
Working with experienced managers, in a small company, will give you a lot of senior exposure. Having the freedom to work independently without constant supervision is also a requirement.
An important aspect of our approach is that it is highly applied. As part of our work, our staff will develop and implement commercial solutions that create jobs in very poor areas, increase household incomes, and create socially sustainable businesses.
The people we are looking for are:
- Highly motivated and driven by wanting to make a social contribution
- Self-motivating and able to work without great direct oversight
- Commercially savvy. It is beneficial to have a basic understanding of business, trading, and marketing
- Have some knowledge or experience in emerging markets and ideally Sub-Saharan Africa
- Able to write with a good grasp of Microsoft Office products, mainly Word and Excel
- Fluent in English
They are full-time, salaried positions. There is flexibility in location and remote work is possible.
