Job Description
Supporting the Legal Manager with legal, asset and insurance issues (including BBBEE & compliance issues):
- Ensure that all contracts entered into by the company are reviewed and any errors, unauthorized changes, or omissions are reported;
- In case of need, consult with company law firms regarding the above;
- Liaising with the insurance provider and managing all insurance claims while advising on the best process for substantiating claims;
- Advise on, negotiate and submit payment plans and draft debt acknowledgments.
- The company’s legal correspondence is drafted.
- Taking into account all legal correspondence received from outside parties and drafting replies.
- All departments of the company receive legal advice on a wide range of topics, including competition and compliance with legislation (such as PAIA, POPI, OHS Act, CPA, NCA, Companies Act, including the King Report). Maintaining management’s understanding of new legislation and current events affecting the business.
- Assisting with the management and submission of licensing requirements for the petroleum industry, including environmental, railway siding, operating, and hazardous storage licenses, and business retail licenses.
- Responsible for managing all corporate secretarial documentation and requirements in compliance with the Companies Act and King Report as necessary.
- All legal documentation and files should be maintained.
- Implementing the Revised Codes of Good Practice in cooperation with the BBBEE Task Committee.
- Correspondence and management of all legal documents.
- The keeping of a register of contracts and other legal documents
- Maintain mobile asset tagging for the company.
- Providers, HR, and sales conduct due diligence
