We are based in the business hub of Rosebank in Johannesburg, which is located in the Limpopo and North West Provinces of South Africa.

Requirements:

1. Purpose of the Role

  • Assist with the safe making and installation of equipment, the preparation of faces, the charging, and blasting of operations, as well as the effective cleaning and tramming of the work area.

2. Work of Role

Ensure adherence to rules and regulations regarding tasks, and report violations if they occur

Maintain compliance with equipment/machinery handling rules and regulations, and deal with/report any violations.

Health and safety of team members and individuals entering his/her area of responsibility is his/her responsibility.

Planning and ordering of tools, materials, and equipment; Responsibility for ensuring quality and quantity in all work output

In charge of motivating, coaching, supervising, and administering the team

Aid in the preparation of face plates, charging, and blasting operations related to safe making, installations, and face preparation

The working area is effectively cleaned and trammed

3. Qualifications

  • Grade 12
  • Blasting Certificate
  • Shift Supervisor Certificate – Advantageous

4. Experience

  • Mining experience of at least 5 years, of which at least 2 years must be in a supervisory role

5. Knowledge and Skills

  • Having a good understanding of legal requirements:
  • (Protection in working environments) of the MHSA
  • Workings: Responsibilities under the Minerals Act Chapter 8
  • The Occupational Hygiene Chapter of the MHSA
  • Chapter 22 (Schedules) of the MHSA
  • Reporting of accidents is governed by MHSA Chapter 23.
