Johannesburg Water is hiring a Control Room Operator

Johannesburg Water  PURPOSE

Manage the control room and its resource systems, and have full control over all sites reporting to the controller, as well as managing incidents and shortfalls.

Johannesburg Water  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide the number of security officers on duty for the particular site and shift. Keeping track of Security Officers who are on leave, AWOL, or short-posted.

Make sure all deviations on posting are rectified. Short-postings, shortages, and AWOLs can be filled with security officers.

Make sure all sites report hourly, reporting all in order and or reporting irregularities as they occur.

Send an OB number to the control room and receive an OB number in return.

Operators must make an OB entry pertaining all details and complete an incident report for all incidents on site.

Any irregularities should be reported. Whenever an incident occurs, follow the Emergency SOP’s. Make sure that the control room receives warnings from the Guard monitoring systems.

When Security Officers on site do not respond to problem areas, deploy mobile supervisors. Equipment that has been lost or malfunctioned should be reported.

Keep the working environment clean and tidy at all times, including equipment and resources.

Johannesburg Water REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12
• 3 years in a Security environment which includes 1 year control room experience.
• Computer literacy

• PSIRA Grade B Registration.
• Knowledge of Easy Roster system.
• Drivers Licence code 08 (B)
