​The Role of vacancy

  • Assuring proficiency in accordance with the required unit standard by facilitation/transfer of learning.
  • Performance gap/needs analysis is an effective method of identifying skills and knowledge gaps.
  • Coaching and training on the job can help close skills and knowledge gaps.
  • Ensure Sandvik equipment benefits customers by participating in needs analysis and optimization initiatives.
  • Provide both internal and external customers with effective feedback and reporting.

In accordance with Sandvik Mining requirements, OEM limitations, SETA, and SHEQ standards, this service is delivered to Sandvik Mining clients (internal and external).

Key Performance Areas

  • Implement the lesson plan for training/transferring learning.
  • Provide all assessment, lesson plan, and control documentation for recordkeeping.
  • Give feedback on updating and developing learning materials, as well as help for editing.
  • Contribute to the design and updating of lesson plans (content, practice requirements, scripts, lesson aids, course map/procedure/summary).
  • Ensure that training reports are completed and submitted according to schedule.
  • Implement learning objectives/outcomes outlined in written form.
  • Detailed feedback on candidate improvement.
  • Take appropriate action to overcome learning obstacles.
  • Assess actual learning needs and gaps with a pre-test.
  • Assess learner capability in action (on-the-job).
  • Enhance the learner’s performance by optimizing their knowledge/skills.
  • Legal compliance.
  • Take appropriate action to overcome all obstacles to SHEQ.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on processes and systems that hinder performance of the learner.

Required Profile

  • Qualifications equivalent to a matriculation (Grade 12).
  • Worked with surface drilling equipment in the past.
  • Operator or equipment specialist with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
  • A basic understanding of computers.
  • You must have a Code 08 license and your own vehicle.
  • Working with minimal supervision is a skill.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Writing basic reports.
  • A track record of transferring skills from one job to another.
  • The ability to think critically and solve problems.

Job Advantages

  • Qualification in mining (Blasting Ticket / Competent A Mining).
  • Trade Certificate.
  • Competence in indigenous languages (other than English).
  • Presentation skills.
  • Assessor’s certificate.
